Miroslava Mintcheva has appeared as solosit, collaborator, and clinician in numerous major cities throughout the U.S. (New York, Los Angeles, Atlanta, Denver) and abroad, including performances in Italy, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, and Canada.

 

Dr. Mintcheva has won prizes in numerous international competitions, including the 12th Simone Belsky National Piano Competition (winner), American Protégé International Piano Competition (2nd Prize), 2009 International Web Concert Hall Music Competition (finalist) and was a semi-finalist in the Liszt Garrison and Beethoven Sonata International Piano Competitions.

 

Dr. Mintcheva combines a busy performance schedule with a highly successful teaching and academic career. She has held teaching appointments at the University of Colorado at Boulder, Colorado State University, and also served as Visiting Assistant Professor of Piano at Florida Southern College in Lakeland, Florida. In addition, she has presented recitals and masterclasses at the University of Southern Mississippi, Murray State University, East Central University, Berea College, and Del Mar College.

 

A dedicated teacher, Mintcheva has maintained a competitive pre-college piano studio with her husband, Dr. David McArthur.  In recognition of her dedication to excellence in the field of teaching, Dr. Mintcheva was awarded the prestigious 2011 StAR Studio Teacher Fellowship Award by the Music Teachers National Association. Her students have been selected as winners in the Colorado Music Teachers SPA Competition, CSMTA Concerto Competition, Kawai Piano Competition, Wells Music Competition, and Stars of Tomorrow local and regional Competitions.

 

In addition to solo appearances, Dr. Mintcheva frequently concertizes with her husband David McArthur, as the award-winning Mintcheva/McArthur Piano Duo. The couple has performed together throughout the U.S. and abroad.  The Mintcheva/McArthur Piano Duo was honored as the recipient of the 3rd prize at the 2013 U.S. International Duo Piano Competition. In addition, the duo was invited to perform as one of only four finalists nationally in the 2013 Ellis Duo Piano Competition. They were also featured as the only musicians at the 2013 TEDx Front Range Conference in Loveland, CO.
